THE OPPORTUNITY:

Carrier Manufacturing is the largest manufacturing shop north of Abbotsford. Handling projects across a wide range of primary resource industries, the shop is reputed for our consistent engineering standards and top-notch workmanship. We attract clientele from across Canada and into the United States, completing projects from mining to forestry to agriculture and beyond.

THE DUTIES:

Successful candidates must be able to work in various jobs which can include rotating to different job duties. These general duties could include:

  • Assist Journeyman Fabricators, Machinists and Millwrights as needed,
  • Operating Plasma Table,
  • Running a Metal Bandsaw,
  • Painting,
  • Sweeping,
  • Dumping Garbage.

THE QUALIFICATIONS:

The ideal candidate will be a hardworking individual with a proactive attitude, willing to always learn and embrace new concepts. They will have the ability to work well with others at all levels and should be a motivated, self-starter. Previous painting experience would be considered an asset.

This is a physical job that involves walking on even and uneven surfaces. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Preference will be given to candidates who exhibit attention to detail, a safety-conscious attitude, and impeccable attendance.

THE DUTIES:

The ideal candidates are responsible to perform the physical duties involved with cleanup and/or production duties in both sawmill and planer environments including, but not limited to:

  • Sweeping and shoveling, walking on even and uneven surfaces, pushing a wheelbarrow and using a power saw.
  • The candidate must be able to lift up to a maximum of 50 lbs.
  • Preference will be given to candidates who exhibit attention to detail, a safety-conscious attitude, and impeccable attendance. 

Wages are $36.86 an hour as per the collective agreement.

The ideal candidates will be responsible to perform the physical duties involved with cleanup and other entry level duties in a sawmill/planer environment including, but not limited to:

  • Sweeping and shoveling, walking on even and uneven surfaces, pushing a wheelbarrow and using a power saw.
  • Be willing and able to run various production jobs as assigned.
  • The candidate must be able to lift up to a maximum of 50 lbs.
  • Preference will be given to candidates who exhibit attention to detail, a safety-conscious attitude, and impeccable attendance.
