THE OPPORTUNITY:

Carrier Lumber Ltd. is searching for a part-time Inventory Counter to count packages of lumber and piles of logs at our Tabor Mill site.

THE DUTIES:

The successful candidate will work every second Sunday on a pre-determined schedule. This work is outdoors, regardless of weather conditions, and will not be cancelled to accommodate statutory holidays. There may be rare occasions when the work is rescheduled to Saturday or Monday.

THE QUALIFICATIONS:

The ideal candidate will be a self-motivated individual with a proactive attitude. This is a physical job that involves walking on even and uneven surfaces. Preference will be given to candidates who exhibit attention to detail, excellent math skills, and impeccable attendance. Please note that this is a non-union, hourly job. All candidates require their own transportation.

THE QUALIFICATIONS

THE QUALIFICATIONS:

  • The Farm Hand will take pride in work; have problem solving abilities, a proactive attitude and an advocate for safety.
  • The ideal candidate will have a passion for the ranching industry and respect for all animals while working in a low-stress environment.
  • Must have 3-5 years’ experience with Farming and Harvesting.
  • GPS and Auto-Steer experience is an asset.
  • Applicant should have a strong mechanical background and be familiar with operating and maintaining large farm equipment and implements.

 

THE DUTIES:

The type of work will include, but not be limited to the following:

  • Tractor operation,
  • Field work such as: Spraying, Seed Bed Prep
  • Harvesting Silage and Hay Crop,
  • Fencing as needed.
  • Feeding cattle during winter months.

The Metal Fabricator Estimator will be a detail oriented individual with a proactive attitude. The individual should be willing to look at and handle real/practical problems, as well as CAD drawings and specialized equipment, such as our plasma cutting table.

The following qualifications are preferred:

  • Mechanical Engineering Technologist
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in Steel Estimating
  • Technically capable and safety driven
  • Occupational First Aid is a bonus

THE OPPORTUNITY:

They will have some heavy duty equipment training and knowledge of best practices around farm animals. The ideal candidate will be an all-around ‘handyman’ and will be detail-oriented, organized and respectful. Experience with plumbing and/or electrical is considered an asset.

THE DUTIES:

  • Assess and repair large tracts of fencing (barbed wire and electric)

  • Read GPS maps and locate fence repair needs

  • Use a chainsaw to clear paths along fences (chainsaw certificate an asset)

  • Basic carpentry skills for fixing corrals, paddocks, and infrastructure

  • Basic knowledge of plumbing and electrical for maintenance fixes around ranch houses and structures

  • Machine operating experience an asset for alternate jobs, as needed

This is a full time seasonal, or full time year-round position for the right candidate. Hourly wage determined by experience. Benefits and housing may be available as well for the right candidate.

Based out of Prince Albert, Saskatchewan and under the direct supervision of the Woodlands Superintendent, the Woodlands Supervisor is responsible for the supervision of the harvesting and field operations for operations in Saskatchewan.

The successful candidate will be a self-starter with excellent organization, computer, communication and team skills.  The candidate must have proven skills related to all facets of forestry operations and field work.  Field experience is a definite asset. 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A minimum of 3 years related experience
  • Ability to qualify for a Registered Professional Forester / Registered Professional Forestry Technician designation is required
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proficient in current technology
  • Knowledgeable in current forest legislation


Salary is commensurate with experience and includes RRSP contributions, comprehensive dental/health coverage as well as the potential for bonuses.

Carrier Lumber's Bar K Ranch Guest House (BKRGH) is currently accepting applications for a part-time Handyman. The successful candidate will look after routine maintenance and upkeep of the BKRGH and other related properties.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  • Must have and maintain independent registration with WorkSafe BC.
  • Must be safety oriented and able to follow all BKRGH policies and procedures.
  • Must have experience operating and maintaining lawn and garden equipment, as well as other assorted power tools. Lawn and garden equipment includes, but is not limited to: ride-on lawn mower, and Bobcat skid-steer loader with related attachments.
  • Must be trustworthy and meticulous.
  • Must be able to: work unsupervised, communicate verbally and in writing, and follow up on projects to achieve closure.
  • Must be able to manage multiple tasks, consistently meet deadlines, and work at an acceptable pace.
  • Must hold and maintain a Class 5 BC Driver’s Licence and have reliable transportation.

DUTIES:

  • Winterizing premises and equipment.
  • Summerizing premises and equipment.
  • Snow clearing.
  • Lawn cutting and maintenance.
  • Light Gardening.
  • Minor repairs and regular maintenance to premises and equipment.
  • Supervising other contractors to do major repairs to premises and equipment.
