THE QUALIFICATIONS:

The Part-Time Term position begins the end of November of 2021 and the Measurement Technician will be a detail oriented individual with a proactive attitude.  They will have the ability to work well with others at all levels and should be a motivated self-starter who is comfortable working alone.  This is a physical job working outdoors in all weather conditions.

The following qualifications are preferred:

  • Skilled with relevant Microsoft Suite programs (Excel, Word, Access),
  • Minimum 6 months experience in a mill or forestry setting,
  • Comfortable with technology and an aptitude for computers.

THE DUTIES:

  • Monitors and measures the dimensions and quality attributes of logs delivered to the yard,
  • Compares dimensions and quality attributes of logs against both Woodlands contracts and Company log quality specifications,
  • Maintains records and statistics related to measurement and quality issues; and analyses data,
  • Assists in the continuing development of company log quality attributes and specifications, and recommends appropriate bonuses and penalties for logs not meeting the Company’s standards,
  • Assists the Woodlands staff in the operation of the scale,
  • Assists the Government Check Scaler as required, spreading or picking up scale loads with equipment,
  • Weekend inventory counts of lumber and logs,
  • This is a Part-Time Term contract.

THE QUALIFICATIONS:

The Tabor Shift Millwright will be an exceptional troubleshooter and always learn and embrace new concepts. They will have the ability to work well with others at all levels and should be a motivated, self-starter.

  • Education Required: Valid Inter-Provincial Journeyperson Red Seal certification. 2nd, 3rd or 4th year apprentices will be considered
  • Valid Class 5 Drivers license
  • Able to do shift work. 12hr shifts. (2 on 2 off, 3 on 2 off, 2 on 3 off. Every second weekend off 3 days)
  • Strong interpersonal and analytical skills
  • Must be dependable, efficient, professional and have a positive attitude

THE DUTIES:

  • Troubleshoot hydraulics
  • Weld and fabricate as needed
  • Install and set clearances on high speed bearings
  • Change chipping knives daily
  • Perform running P.M. checks on various machines centers
  • Chase whistles in a fast paced environment

The Journeyman Electrician will be an exceptional troubleshooter and always learn and embrace new concepts. They will have the ability to work well with others at all levels and should be a motivated, self-starter.

Education Required:

  • Valid Inter-Provincial Journeyperson Red Seal electrical certification.
  • Valid Class 5 Drivers license.
  • Training or experience working on Allen Bradley Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) RS Logix 5000, 500, 5 and various control systems.
  • Training or experience with Computers/VFD/Optimization/RMC and networking.
  • Able to do shift work, including nights or weekends.
  • Strong interpersonal and analytical skills.
  • Must be dependable, efficient, professional and have a positive attitude.

THE DUTIES:

  • Communicate with other departments about any production issues.
  • Troubleshoot, repair and maintain all electrical systems such as but not limited to Motors, VFDs, PLCs, faulty wiring, controls and other optimization related scanning in a timely fashion.
  • Use and troubleshoot Controls systems via computers, AB software and basic networking.
  • Read blue prints, schematics and plans.
  • Adapt to changing technologies, priorities and working conditions.
  • Follow and understand the Canadian Electrical Code.

Handling projects across a wide range of primary resource industries, the shop is reputed for our consistent engineering standards and top-notch workmanship. We attract clientele from across Canada and into the United States, completing projects from mining to forestry to agriculture and beyond.

THE QUALIFICATIONS

We are currently accepting applications for a Red Seal certified Fabricator for our Prince George shop. We will also accept resumes from third or fourth year apprentices. Other qualifications include:

  • 3 years' fabricating experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Overhead crane operation and current certification considered an asset
  • Strong ability to interpret blueprints
  • Excellent time management and organization
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • First Aid ticket considered an asset
  • Forklift ticket considered an asset


THE DUTIES

  • Plate fabrication material preparation and finishing
  • Fitting structural steel shapes, plate work and custom fabrications
  • Working with steel fabrication techniques, steel grades and shapes
  • Welding with MCAW and FCAW
  • Reading and interpreting blueprints

THE COMPENSATION
Normal working hours are Monday to Friday, 40 hrs/week with opportunity for overtime on nights and weekends.
